Bastogne 04:23
A solemn moon brings solitude Which gets worse when cold in the winter Broke bones shake while old wounds acheAnd I wait for the memories to wither I push friends away cause I feel betrayed My insides, they failed to nourish Is this their plan, leave me half of man While this world continues to flourish Chorus I, I'm deprived My life flashes, before my eyes I'm, I'm better than you know But I was left out in the snow My own Bastogne Swollen eyes hid my wounded pride As I battle with those around me Mislead guilt is a thing that kils As I wait I've dreamed too many old scenes Alone on this peerless journey This quixotic fight tears a whole in my life AS I lay here upon this gurney Oh, no-o its not right to take another man's life Brush off his haunting line that you're lucky to be alive Chorus Life retreats itself, tell me its not true Oh, no-o its not right to take another man's life Brush off his haunting line that you're lucky to be alive Chorus

Fall Away 04:41
So far gone and, so far from your mind So let's hope that you, still think that I'm your kind It's not just your vision, getting blurry It's mine, it's mine the same What's your name I, hope it hasn't changed What the point your whole, life has been re-a-rranged It's not just your vision, getting blurry It's mine, it's mine, the same lines said, just today, ain't like yesterday Out of my hands, under my skin And only there, to stay You Fall Away You Fall Away Holding back cards, like a shiver of sharks...these days Playing your part, like a bleeding heart...these days Why...do I, push the same way that you're pulling Wry...and dry, this act of malice has us feeling low and still you go You Fall Away You Fall Away You Fall Away Dreaming of those nights, that no longer exist A square peg in this world, that no longer fits And I can't even count all the acts we feign While holding back the lines, that we'd probably only say in vane Why...do I, push the same way that you're pulling Wry...and dry, this act of malice has us feeling low and still you go You Fall Away

Train pulls away I put the car in drive And all that's left are two sets of Worn out eyes A darling boy obsessed with time A clever girl who's never far behind A setting scene for better days To try and take the trains that come our way It took twenty minutes to fill this in I'm so sure of my words that I wrote it in pen Darling, clever girl I'll take you 'round this world Our fears are met, the past has left The future is bright, so sleep tonight For a time, we must linger between the lines Of the ideal and mundane I swear a change once my pocketbook does the same There'll be no more morning trains 'Cause you're my angel I've got no cash, let's spend the night And in the morning, see the change You're my one true love Darling, clever girl I'll take you all around this world Our fears are met, the past has left The future is bright, so sleep tonight

Smoking Gun 03:40
Isn't it wrong to think I'm the only one Marooned on this island of green Isn't it right to think you're the only one To sink their ship to prove this to me Often times, we're left alone Other times, we're often stoned I've know the realm of rescue's end But fear that this fate will never, be my own Chorus I wish I could Be good again But all the signs suggest This hope is all that's left Will I be good again How long will I delude the dream Before its gonna permanently Will I reside and drown inside the dream That'll push you away eventually A stone won't move itself, you jab Another laceration to the scab A stab at setting right again The life that was lost befor-ore it began Chorus You've found it, you're grounded, I need it now I'm yelling, but you're not helping, to pull me out I'm calling, hear me calling you You can't hear me calling, hear me calling you Now I'm, used and lonely Others, have disowned me My vice, now is the only one To try and bring me back Now I'm sad and lonely The others have disowned My vice is now the only One to reach out and try to bring me back I wish I could Be good again But all the signs suggest This hope is all that's left I won't be good again

This Love 03:07
She was standing there watching me play I looked at her just wondering what should I say Words can't save the mess we've made this time Weeks passed by since we last made love Livin' in two different homes with one roof above The silence breaks us and leaves worried thoughts behind Chorus Now this love, of ours Is hanging by a lonely string Just a word, has the power To turn it around, change everything Greatest days, darkest hours Will Nothing Save This Love Of Ours Our families get along and our friends are proud We found a love the they won't put down But I'm not dating your family or your friends Just cause you're used to the way, that I hold you tight Doesn't mean we have to give up our right To happiness or love, while living these lonely nights Chorus It is hard to see through the other side of life here without you near So lay down tonight, right by my side. Help me see things a little more clear Conflicts arise and it's up to you and I to work it out Work it out? Chorus

A flip through the channels brings Our cruel world to my eye One station hosts the chiefs while on the next, the soldiers die Emotions are numb, that's where bombs come from Devotions left aside I can't find peace with those, who've lost their peace of mind Have we done...all that we promised to Have I done...what I'm on Earth to do Is it done...all the conflicts, all the points of view Is it done? Baleful shades of colors crash Nightfall's coming fast The silence that sleeps with all the lights on Surely won't last Have we done...all that we promised to Have I done...what I'm on Earth to do Is it done...all the conflicts, all the points of view Is it done? Lament is a feeling I'm no longer with out (Nations sprawling) If you're scared of us now (Bombs are falling) Just wait till we're done (War is calling) Don't be scared of us now (End is dawning) Be afraid of what's to come Big sound, heads are down Texting away these last of days Chorus What I want won't transcend when We witness Winter's end Homes lost till we meet dead so Lay out my dying bed Are you seeing the light? What I want won't transcend when We witness Winter's end Homes lost till we meet dead so Lay out my dying bed All the Ashes No more past tense

The Note 05:16
Its the last chance, to sing to you To bring to you, a sedentary man's last refrain We've seen changes, and I want to leave them, too But we have to flesh it out, and clear the doubts that remain No more side steps, laced with Pageantry Chorus All I want is that life, that I envisioned Here, with you, with me If you're leaving this town, we've lost our vision (No) Words can't hold you down Another lost chance, to be straight with you Forget these cryptic lines, I just want you to stay Oh, I've known dear, this isn't the place for you And no place will be, till we can both act selflessly We'd be done in days, if I would say, you're everything Chorus Is this all there's gonna be This as just a memory Hinting at unrest With a silent kiss, silent kiss, silent kiss With a silent kiss, silent kiss, silent kiss Sitting here, writing here The note that will tell you The time has come, I'm going away Despite that we, tried desperately This may be the ending Don't let these words hold you down All I want is that life, that I envisioned Here, with you, with me If you're leaving this town, we've lost our vision Don't let these words hold you down All the nights I was short with you We'll never get them back All the long, screaming matches, too Saying things we can't retract They're all gone now You're gone now And all that's left is this Note

about

Yankee Racers emerged in 2011 from disparate ends of St. Louis’ rock scene and Chicago’s jazz scene. Its prime movers, guitarist Curt Brewer and pianist Nathan Jatcko, spent years playing together in various professional groups before making the decision to produce their own music. The result of their first collaboration is Yankee Racers’ full-length album Duologue (Amerigo Records/January 2012).

Brewer & Jactko composed and directed a collection of prominent Midwestern musicians who performed the vocal and instrumental parts created by the duo. Their songs ebb and flow through tortuous moments of loss and alienation, intermixed with descants of love and longing. Duologueshines as a conscious ode to the format of 1960’s American radio, where one song exudes the primal churn of the kinetic youth while the next conveys introspective warmth through serene melodies and timeless themes. More Joni Mitchell than Springsteen, more Jeff Buckley than Cobain, their sound pushes to be thoughtful in structure while retaining rock n’ roll accessibility.
